Closing of the Bones - A Postpartum Honouring Ceremony
Closing of the Bones is a cross cultural ritual for postpartum mothers to honour the experience of pregnancy and birth.
It is an opportunity for a sacred pause to reflect upon and acknowledge the transformational journey of pregnancy, birth and motherhood.
Hayley offers deep nurture and care and holds space for you to reconnect back to your body, mind, heart and spirit.
The ceremony can be facilitated any time after birth, even years later, with the same powerful effects.
The Ceremony will be held in your home and includes:
~ An opportunity to share your birth story and debrief your experience in a safe, supportive and trauma informed environment
~ Time to reflect upon each rite of passage you have experienced as a woman leading into motherhood and what you have learnt about yourself along the way.
~ Gentle + nourishing oil massage of your shoulders, arms and hands to honour the physical parts of your body that nurtures and holds your baby
~ Rebozo wrapping - Closing the Bones
~ Sacred Cacao or Tea
~ Insights and sharing
~ Tarot Cards
How it will flow:
A sacred space will be set up for you and several rebozos will be placed on the floor. You will then be asked to lie on your back on top of the rebozos. Your shoulders, arms and hands will be massaged with oil to help your nervous system drop into a state of rest. Your body will be stretched and swayed with the rebozos and the you will then be wrapped up in the rebozo cloths, from your head to your toes and covered with a blanket to keep you warm. You will be held in a safe container of love and support. The ritual is then finished with a warming drink and an opportunity for you to talk about the experience.
Investment: $220 for the full experience held over 2 - 2.5 hours + additional travel costs if you live outside of the Northern Beaches.
All equipment will be provided.
