Pregnancy Loss Support
This includes Miscarriage, Early Birth, Termination + Stillbirth.
Every pregnancy ends with a birth.
It doesn’t matter how many weeks pregnant you were, for that period of time you mothered a baby in your womb. You imagined what it would be like to welcome this baby into your life. You conceived a baby, your body started to grow a baby and you birthed a baby. This means that you have a postpartum body that needs time to rest, heal and be nourished and nurtured too. It is important to have support people around you who understand this.
Sadly when pregnancy and birth loss happens women can be left feeling lonely, misunderstood and ashamed. People can say things that feel hurtful even though they meant well or even worse ignore it completely acting like it didn’t happen because they don’t know what to say or do. It is important to have support people around you that acknowledge your birth, to help you process your experience and find the closure that you need.
Hayley personally experienced the early birth (miscarriage) of one of her children so understands the importance of supportive, gentle love and care during this vulnerable time. Sadly, she has also supported many women in her community who have experienced the loss of a baby.
Support during this time can be tailored to the individual needs of the woman and me include:
~ Physical, spiritual or emotional support
~ Talking on the phone or in person
~ Comfort and support within your home
~ Share the experience of your loss
~ Talking through birth options if the timing allows (D&C or birthing the baby natures way)
~ Support with telling other children/friends and family
~ Womb connection + support ( this could be womb massage, meditation, journalling prompts and visualisation exercises)
~ Belly Binding
~ Planning a planting ceremony
~ Closing the bones ceremony
~ Holding an honouring ceremony or circle 1:1 or with loved ones.
Please reach out to discuss the type of support that you need for you or your loved one.
